fredrik sarnbladI can’t say enough good things about The Gables Inn and its owner, Peter. I found myself in a real pinch during a winter storm, and Peter truly came to the rescue. His kindness and willingness to help turned a stressful situation into an unexpectedly wonderful stay. The room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed — and the bed was fantastic. After a long, cold day, it was exactly what I needed. Everything felt warm, welcoming, and well cared for. The atmosphere at the Mountain Dog Pub & Restaurant was equally inviting. Great food, a cozy vibe, and the kind of place where you instantly feel at home. This wasn’t just a stay — it was genuine hospitality at its best. Robert SmithMy wife and I just stayed at The Gables and absolutely loved it! John, the innkeeper, is the friendliest person and extremely helpful. He made us feel right at home from the second we walked in the house. The house itself has a lot of character and is very spacious. For breakfast we had homemade muffins and strawberry jam which were both delicious and John even let us take the extras with us for the road. We would definitely love to come and stay at The Gables again!

Lindsey NicholsLooking for a friendly, quiet, and very clean B&B? The Gables is a solid bet. About 5 minutes easy walk to a bakery and a cafe with hot breakfast sandwiches and coffee. If you're in a rush, the fresh baked B&b muffins are warm, fluffy, and just sweet enough. The Gables provides plenty of coffee, juice, and tea alongside the muffins. You'll also find plenty of fresh towels here, robust A/C even in July, and WiFi access. No smoking indoors - My room smelled quite fresh. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.
