L. LomaskyLovely museum that truly creates a sense of place. Gilboa is home to some of the oldest fossils on earth and seeing these remnants in situ makes the experience far more poignant. A second room traces the history of the town of Gilboa and the destruction of the original village. In a third room, the works of contemporary local artists are on display. I recommend allowing roughly two hours for a visit. Be sure to follow it up with giving proper appreciation to the gorgeous landscape, a visit to the nearby reservoir (which covers the old Gilboa village) and maybe a trip to Echoes of Gilboa, which is a lovely cemetery that is home to many of the people who called old Gilboa home.
