Their tear-shaped pond is so clean and wow the sauna is beautiful. I went back and forth between swimming in the pond and sitting in that gorgeous sauna. I never go to wellness retreats and don’t love much of “self-care culture”, so their irreverent, funny (yet earnest) approach was just right for me, and made me feel immediately at ease.

Feb 27, 2026 · Google ReviewWe spent a long Valentine’s Day weekend at Narnia Escapes in Middleburgh, and it was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, every detail was thoughtfully curated, creating a warm, cozy, and deeply nourishing atmosphere. Stan, Shashik and Jenny are truly the heart of this experience. They guided us through breathwork and meditation sessions, Tai Chi, cold plunges, sauna, and powerful music experiences — including a beautiful group drumming session where even beginners felt united and connected. They also shared their life wisdom and presence so generously, which made the weekend feel deeply meaningful. We had snowy walks in the woods, a heart-opening cacao ceremony, and absolutely delicious meals with a wonderful variety of teas always available. The wooden home is magical — filled with instruments from around the world, meaningful books, and thoughtful details that make it feel inspiring yet completely at home. We came as a couple not knowing anyone and left feeling connected, grateful, and hopeful to carry these new friendships forward. A unique, heart-opening experience we’ll always remember 🤍
Feb 17, 2026 · Google ReviewThis was my second visit to Narnia Escapes—my first was in autumn, and now I experienced it in winter. Seeing this place in two completely different seasons made me realize how truly special it is. Each visit feels like stepping into a different world, yet the magic remains the same. The cold plunge in the lake followed by the intense heat of the sauna is a powerful ritual. Stan leads the sauna experience with deep intention, using venik—birch branches—to rhythmically tap the body, stimulating circulation and awakening the skin. The sauna gets incredibly hot, and stepping outside into the freezing winter air is shocking, grounding, and exhilarating all at once. Breathwork inspired by the Wim Hof method -Alex pushes you beyond what you think is possible. You step outside your comfort zone, cross invisible boundaries, and discover strength you didn’t know you had. The sound baths with gongs and singing bowls guide you into a deep meditative state. The food is nourishing and thoughtful—exactly what the body needs after forest walks, hikes, Thai Chi, and intense sauna sessions. Every meal feels restorative and deeply caring. Living together under one roof—without walls—creates rare and meaningful connections. Whether you arrive with friends or as a total stranger, you leave feeling bonded. Jenny leads beautiful cacao ceremonies and helps prepare meals that are vibrant, colorful, and so artfully presented you almost hesitate to eat them. Evenings are filled with music, shared silence, deep conversations, card games, reading, and laughter. You unplug from the outside world and return to daily life more grounded, open, and connected—to nature and to yourself. Narnia Escapes is not just a retreat. It’s an experience that stays with you—and one that clearly invites you back. 🌲🔥❄️✨
Feb 15, 2026 · Google ReviewI am a Wim Hof method instructor and met Alex at the academy. He invited me to Narnia quite a few times to enjoy and it’s an amazing and magical space held in love and care. Lots of fun. I will be hosting my breathwork class course here with my students and can not wait. If you have the opportunity to go here it is the universe tickling your soul. Listen to it. Go.
Jan 15, 2026 · Google ReviewFor 13 years I’ve been doing cold plunges in Atlantic City in the winter. I always kind of enjoyed it, and a few years ago I discovered Wim Hof and started doing his breathing methods — which I absolutely loved. About three years ago I heard about Narnia, and since then I kept wanting to go… but I always hesitated. I felt like I wasn’t ready, mentally or physically. I kept telling myself I needed to prepare more, do more cold showers, get out of my comfort zone. But the comfort zone always won. One day I finally called Stan and told him to sign me up — plus one. I invited my best friend without giving him too many details (I didn’t want to scare him off!) and he immediately agreed. And I’m so glad I did, because my friend absolutely loved it and enjoyed it fully. This retreat turned out to be exactly what I needed, both mentally and physically. I overcame fears I didn’t even know I had. I did things I never thought my 300-lb, 47-year-old body could do. It changed me. I came back a new person — with thicker skin, more discipline, and I left my laziness back at the pond. There is never a “perfect time.” If you keep waiting, your comfort zone will take over and you’ll always find an excuse. I’m glad I pushed myself to commit and put down the deposit, because this experience was truly life-changing. Highly recommend.
