We visited the museum in 2018 and were amazed at the artistry & beauty of these pieces and stunned to find them in this tiny country town. The sculptures are fabulous historic architectural treasures of stone & terracotta. This is a fantastic collection of work by largely unknown 19th century immigrant artisans who were classically trained in Europe. Appalling to think that If not for the visionary insight of the museum’s founder, these amazing artifacts would’ve ended up as rubble in a landfill.

Wonderful museum, especially for New Yorkers to see the art that is often above their heads at eye level.
