Matthew Stubblefield 5 out of 5 stars★★★★★This is a small museum where the original entrance to howe's cavern used to be. In the building they have lots of rocks to look at and lots of pictures from when the cavern was new. You can see into part of the basement ad they are working on restoring the building. They have guides that will bring you down into the original entrance and let you see some of the start of the cavern. Sadly party of the entrance is collapsed due to the original operation going bankrupt and having to sell to a mining company. There is still an active mine next to the building, and the mine still owns the land. The guide we had was a volunteer and very knowledgeable. She was eager to talk and answer as many questions as people had. Our kids also got to look for fossils in rocks right next to the museum. We had a great time and enjoyed the basic natural feel more than the overly commercial and pushy feel of the near by commercial cavern.

A 5 out of 5 stars★★★★★I've gone on a tour into the caves twice and just recently I helped with a small clean up. The people that work there use up their own time to educate the public and love what they do. The museum itself is small and so is the cave but the amount of information crammed into it makes up for it. I believe tours are scheduled by calling the museum so be sure to check with them before heading to the site!
