(Review pt 1/2) If we could shout our recommendation of The Maples Estate and Katie from the rooftops, we would. Hopefully this review is the next best thing. Choosing The Maples Estate was hands down the best decision we made for our wedding, and we can say with complete confidence that that is because of Katie and Louis. They are genuinely two of the loveliest, kindest, most thoughtful people on the planet, and from the very beginning, we knew we were in the best possible hands. Our very first conversation with Katie was a two-hour call where we told her all about ourselves, our relationship, and the wedding we were dreaming of. She listened to everything, and the design deck she created afterward could not have felt more authentically us. Somehow, the wedding we had spent an entire year fantasizing about came out exactly as we had pictured it - which feels impossible to say even now. Katie and her team were so willing to make our wildest ideas happen, from having a coffee hour instead of a traditional cocktail hour to doing a T-shirt toss instead of a bouquet toss. No idea felt too unusual and no challenge felt too big. And somehow, despite planning a wedding for an entire year, we were never stressed. Not once. All year long, friends and family would ask us how stressful wedding planning was, and we genuinely had no idea what they were talking about because we were having so much fun. Even on the wedding weekend, when it rained, we were not worried because we knew Katie had everything handled. The estate and grounds themselves are breathtaking. Every inch of The Maples feels intentional, beautiful, and somehow perfectly imperfect in the most magical way. But what made it truly priceless for us was being able to spend Thursday through Sunday there and let our wedding become an entire weekend rather than just a single day. It was worth every penny and then some. We got to see both sides of our parents sitting together in the living room late Thursday night, just chatting. We watched our brothers and bridal party jump into the pool Friday night because nobody was watching the clock or worrying about where they had to be next. We got to wake up together, spend our days together, celebrate together, and simply exist in the same beautiful place with the people we love. Those completely unplanned moments ended up being some of our favorite memories of the entire wedding weekend, and they are something you simply cannot get from a traditional one-day wedding venue. The rain is actually one of the moments we will remember forever. We had practiced our rehearsal in multiple locations in case of bad weather, but Katie knew how much we had dreamed of having it under the trees. Rather than automatically moving us into the pavilion, she encouraged us morning of to have it outside and told us how beautiful it would be even in the rain. And then, as if The Maples had a little magic of its own, the clouds literally parted and the sun came out as we walked down the aisle. It was unbelievable. The estate gave us the incredible privilege of having our families and some of our bridal party stay with us for the weekend. Being able to wake up, spend the day, get married, and then end the night with all of our friends piled into the bunk room is something we will treasure forever. In fact, we would move into The Maples permanently if Katie and Louis would let us. (Please!) One of the most beautiful things that came out of the weekend was watching our friends become friends with each other. People who had been complete strangers before our wedding are now flying to visit each other without even needing us to be there. What more could you ask for? The Maples gave everyone the space to relax, connect, laugh, and actually be together for an entire weekend - and that is something we never could have created anywhere else.

(Review pt 2/2) What makes The Maples even more special is the community Katie has built around it. The relationships she has formed with people throughout the town and upstate are priceless, and they became such an important part of our wedding experience. These aren't just vendors on a preferred-vendor list - they are incredible people who genuinely care. We sent our wedding guests to Middleburgh Coffee Company during the weekend for coffee, and the owner, Dasha, hand-delivered honey from her bees to us the day after our wedding as a thank-you. In what world does that happen?! Rob from Rob's Roasts sent bags of coffee to our apartment before the wedding so we could taste different roasts and choose what we wanted. Brian from the Dumpling Wagon let us sample everything during one of our planning meetings with Katie. Paloma, our florist, absolutely blew us away - we were genuinely speechless the first time we saw what she had created at the reception, and Katie's vision for the pavilion was pure magic. And the care didn't stop when the wedding started. Our bar stayed open an extra 15 minutes just for us. At our family croquet party and welcome party the day before, Richard from Bars Without Boundaries stayed open for the entire time, foregoing our scheduled 3 hour break and would literally come out and hand-deliver drinks to us in the middle of a croquet game. Our photographer, Shelby, stayed an entire extra hour because she wanted to capture our T-shirt toss and sent us previews that same night. These little things might sound small, but they are exactly what made the entire weekend feel so unbelievably special. We had so many guests tell us that it was the best and most authentic wedding they had ever attended. That word - authentic - means so much to us because that was exactly what we wanted. We wanted a wedding that felt like us, and Katie somehow understood that from our very first conversation. We would not change a single thing. If you are considering The Maples Estate, choose it. Choose Katie and Louis. You will have the most beautiful, joyful, completely personal wedding imaginable, and you will get to actually enjoy every second of it. We cannot recommend them highly enough. Our wedding weekend was truly utter magic, and we will be forever grateful to Katie, Louis, their incredible team, and the entire community they've built around The Maples for giving us the best weekend of our lives!

We just came home from our fourth annual family reunion at The Maples Estate. Katie and Lou have provided the perfect location for 10 families to spend three days together on a beautifully furnished and maintained property. The layout of the house facilitates intimate conversations sitting cozily in the parlor, communal gatherings preparing meals together in the kitchen, and the rare opportunity of seeing all your loved ones in one place while enjoying the evening breeze on the veranda. The grounds are lush and vibrant, with paths winding through wildflowers leading to surprises like the peaceful creek, or a little glen with seating to enjoy nature. Local catering options are varied and delicious. The pool was hard to get out of, either because of the beautiful weather or the view of the rest of the property, I’m not sure! This was not our first time here, but I am sure that anyone working with Katie and Lou for the first time would be as delighted we are with their attention to detail, genuine care for their guests, and pride in the magic they have cultivated on this property. This weekend has become a cornerstone of our family’s traditions, and I couldn’t imagine it anywhere else.

We had the pleasure of working as a caterer for a wedding at Maples Estate this past weekend and cannot speak highly enough about it. The venue is gorgeous and unique which alone is reason enough for us to recommend it to without hesitation to anyone considering it for a gathering . For us, the icing on the cake, though, was the founder/coordinator, Katie. We have found it rare to encounter someone in this role as efficient, accommodating and professional as well as super friendly, chill and effortless to work with. We would say that any couple getting married would be in some of the best hands in the biz with Katie at Maples Estate. We hope we will get to experience working at this venue again and again 🙂

We got married at The Maples Estate last June, and still cannot believe how lucky we were to have found them. We wanted a venue that felt natural, elegant, and classic, and found just that here. We received so many compliments on how beautiful the venue was, which also was thanks to Katie's vision in setting up our florals, signage, etc. She made it feel so perfectly us, and better than we could have imagined. Our favorite part of the weekend, though, may have been getting to share the (gorgeous) house with our wedding parties throughout the whole weekend. It added so much fun, and so many memories, to our entire weekend that are absolutely priceless to us. Katie's guidance in creating our itinerary, suggesting vendors, communicating with vendors as we got closer to the day, was SO helpful. It alleviated so much stress, and provided so much detail that we never would have even thought of. She covered every single base and then some. Everyone who was a part of the team for the weekend and the day of were SO kind to us, so supportive, and so calming, which is more than we could have asked for. We have had people tell us that they have never had more fun at a wedding, or have never seen such a cool, unique venue. We are so grateful, we truly could not have imagined a more perfect venue if we tried, and they truly made all of our dreams come true.

From the moment we saw The Maples Estate, we knew it was the venue for us. From Katie’s warm welcome during our tour to her seamless handling of every nitty-gritty detail on the wedding day, the entire Maples Estate team went above and beyond our expectations. We got married in October, and it turned into the most perfect and unique weekend we could have imagined. We kicked things off with a beautiful nearby hike before our welcome party, and having a venue where we could host multiple events made everything feel effortless. Katie handled the entire setup for our welcome party, ensured all vendors were ready to go, and answered every question along the way. In the months leading up to the wedding—and especially on the wedding day itself—Katie truly took everything over. She had every detail covered, and whenever a bump came up, she already had a solution before I even had time to worry. Her calm, reassuring presence kept stress to a minimum. She took my vision and brought it to life in a way I didn’t think was possible outside of my own imagination (as you can see from the moment I first saw the reception space). I will recommend The Maples Estate to everyone, forever.

We got married this August at The Maples Estate in Schoharie, NY, and whenever someone asks how it was, our response is “perfect.” Katie & Louis run an incredible wedding venue in upstate New York, with a robust network of trusted vendors and a level of creativity, organization, and care for details that makes the entire weekend feel effortless. From the very beginning—on a rainy site visit—we knew The Maples Estate was where we wanted to get married. Katie took the time to get to know us during an in-depth intake call and came back to us with a beautifully thoughtful plan for a three-day wedding weekend that felt completely custom—relaxed, intentional, joyful, and entirely on our own timeline. The 12.5-acre property, set along Schoharie Creek, is stunning and private, with multiple distinct spaces that made each part of the weekend feel special. The on-site house was perfect and allowed us to host casual meals together and a relaxed grab-and-go brunch on the porch Sunday morning. The open-air pavilion was ideal for our 100-guest reception, while the cocktail lawn and tree grove created unforgettable settings for dinners, cocktail hour, and our dusk ceremony. A fire pit nearby made for a perfect post-vows s’mores and champagne toast. The vendors Katie recommended were outstanding, and the strength of The Maples Estate’s relationships was evident in how smoothly everything ran. The planning support and day-of coordination allowed us to fully enjoy time with our family and friends, knowing everything was handled with care. If you’re looking for a wedding venue in Schoharie, NY that offers a true upstate New York wedding weekend experience, personal attention, and a creative, compassionate team, The Maples Estate is exceptional. 10 out of 10 — would book again; thank you to entire Maples Estate Team!

My husband and I got married at the Maples Estate last weekend and it was nothing short of magical. Katie and Louis created a beautiful, one of a kind space where it is easy to enjoy yourselves and connect with loved ones over an extended weekend. My guests loved the thoughtful housing arrangements, equipped with cozy corners to hangout in and fully stocked with whatever we needed. They also raved about the venue. Katie and Louis put a lot of love into developing the space and it was so thoughtfully designed. Katie and team were amazing from start to finish. From pre-wedding communications to coordination once on site there was no stone left unturned. We will have memories to last a lifetime thanks to Katie and Louis. We would 110% recommend the Maples Estate to anyone looking for a transparent team, beautiful venue, and unique space to make your own. Thank you Katie and Louis for making our wedding weekend so incredibly unforgettable.

The Maples Estate is where your wedding dreams come true. As actors and fellow artists, working side-by-side with Katie didn’t even feel like work, it felt like play. Katie listened and collaborated with us, sharing her own inspired visions and ideas with passion and devotion to her craft. We looked forward to each meeting, knowing we were in safe hands with someone who valued both our creativity and our religious requirements. She was an immediate friend whom we knew we could trust. We fell in love with The Maples Estate the moment we set foot on the property, and it wasn’t just because of Katie’s warm, welcoming embrace. We were enchanted by the natural beauty of the estate. From the vibrant buzz of the wildflowers to the rustic charm of the historic guest house, to the serene creek and ceremonial tree grove. We daydreamed over the lifelong memories we would create with our loved ones that we would cherish forever. We wouldn’t trade our wedding weekend at The Maples Estate for anything in this world. What Katie and Louis have created is truly a magical experience. On our wedding day, we awoke among the beautiful grounds, filled with both excitement and confidence, knowing we were in the best of hands with Katie, Louis, and their incredibly attentive staff. Throughout the day, they remained calm and collected, allowing us to be fully relaxed and present. Our wedding at The Maples Estate was the most beautiful, memorable, and vibrant weekend of our lives. With Katie and Louis, we know it will be yours too. -Ilana & Jeremy
